PATIENT ADVOCACY
You will be heard here.
Too many patients arrive at Brilliance Dentistry carrying experiences they never should have had.
They’ve been rushed through appointments. They have raised a hand and asked a provider to stop, only to be ignored. They have been told they need expensive treatment without understanding why. They have felt pressured to make an immediate financial decision. Some have avoided dental care altogether because they were embarrassed, frightened, or afraid of being judged.
Dr. Bissoon wants you to know that your experience here will be different.
Before recommending treatment, she will show you what she sees, explain why it matters, answer your questions, and help you understand the choices available to you. You will have the time and information you need to make an informed decision.
If something feels uncomfortable, you can ask her to stop and she will stop.
If finances are a concern, you can say so without embarrassment. The team will help you explore responsible, non-predatory options and prioritize the care you need. Even if you ultimately receive treatment somewhere else, Dr. Bissoon wants you to understand what to ask, what to look for, and when you have every right to walk away.
Your body belongs to you. Your decisions belong to you. A dentist’s responsibility is to educate and guide you, never to pressure or overpower you.
At Brilliance Dentistry, we don’t simply work on our patients. We work with them.
DENTAL ANXIETY
Afraid of the dentist? You’re exactly where you need to be.
Dental anxiety is real, and it often comes from past experiences or the fear of not knowing what is going to happen next. We address both.
Your first appointment will begin with a conversation, not a procedure. Dr. Bissoon will ask what brought you in, listen to your concerns, and explain what you can expect before she begins. If you are especially anxious, we reserve additional time so you never feel rushed through the experience.
Our office and appointments have been thoughtfully designed to reduce common dental triggers. Depending on your preferences, your experience may include:
Dimmed lighting
Noise-canceling headphones
Television or your preferred music
A personalized comfort menu
Extra time to pause, ask questions, and regroup
Needles and instruments kept out of sight whenever possible
A clear signal you can use to stop treatment immediately
We want to earn your trust. You may never love going to the dentist, but our goal is for you to reach the point where you can walk in, settle into the chair, and know that you’re safe with us.
FOR PATIENTS WHO FEEL EMBARRASSED
It’s been a while. You’re still welcome.
If you’ve avoided the dentist because you are embarrassed about your teeth, afraid of what you may hear, or worried that you waited too long, please know this:
You won’t be judged here.
There’s a reason you got to this point, and shame will not help you move forward. Compassion, education, and a realistic plan will.
Dr. Bissoon will help you understand what’s happening with your oral health, what should be addressed first, and what can be done over time. You don’t have to solve everything in one day. You only have to take the first step.
Wherever you are starting, we’ll meet you there.
